Great video, but mixed results. April 3, 2005

My 2 year old LOVES this video. He jumps and dances along with Grover. He has been eating more fruit, and asking for milk and I think it teaches a great lesson. However- there is alot of falling, and jumping ON others. The cow falls on Grover alot, and jumps "into him" and sometimes on his head. While this is all cute and funny, my 2 year old, constantly jumps into and knocks over his little brother, who is 1. He's not trying to hurt him, but this is the end result none the less. Today he came across a stuffed animal of a cow, and then he was wacking his brother in the head with it, saying, "JUMPING COW, JUMPING COW!" I hate punishing him when he's just copying his FAVORITE video. It is a cute video, and I really like the lessons it teaches, but there are some unwanted side effects if you have multiple little ones.

This lively DVD is just what we needed to jump-start our toddler. She literally JUMPS all over the place to keep up with Elmo, Ernie, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Zoe and all the Sesame gang as they sing and dance to silly songs.
Excercise is so important for kids of any age, and this introduction to fitness is just what we were looking for. It's downright FUN! It's the first and only DVD that got our child OFF THE COUCH and kept her entertained while teaching something at the same time.
It also goes over healthy eating habits, i.e., fruits, yogurt, cheese and vegetables, and our daughter loves to receit each food item as they appear on the screen. There are fun songs about eating right too, and this adds to the fun of learning.
Unlike some of the other Elmo's World and Sesame Street DVD's which our children will outgrow, this one is a definite keeper as they get older!

I am VERY disappointed with this video. I bought it for my 2 year old thinking it would be a great way to exercise her entire body and use large motor skills. WRONG!! The only skill is jumping! That is all! The jumping is broken up with lengthy skits about eating and stretching.
I would NOT recomment this video.

Happy Healthy Monsters is the DVD release of A Sesame Street show that was originally only on VHS. Grover and his pals teach children about the importance of healthy eating habits, getting plenty of rest, and exercising the body. The "Happy Healthy Monsters" television network is home to "Fuzzy, Blue and Healthy, Too", Grover's own fitness show. Watching the program alongside Elmo and Zoe, kids will learn that being healthy can also be fun. Special guests include Andy Richter, Wyclef Jean, India Arie, and Fred Willard.
It's a direct transfer from video. It's fun but at just a 45 minute run time for $12, a bit pricey.

My daughter likes the dvd, but you can get it at Wal-mart for less, only $9.
