4 out of 5 stars The twins pulled off a lively and entertaining performance!   February 1, 2006

The twins must be given full credits for injecting a breath of fresh air into this familiar plot. Afterall, it is very similar to the 1961 Parent Trap and its 1998 remake.

Yet this movie came up with the ingenius idea of actually recruiting the Olsen twins, instead of one girl only, to play the two roles. Instead of asking a child to shoot each scene twice, Mary-Kate and Ashley could really respond to each other and focus on the characters comfortably. There were unexpected twists and enough big shots for the twins to engage their talking eyes and sweet smiles, play cunning tricks on the step-mother to be and match-making. The result was a warm and alluring family movie!

If flaws must be found, one definitely would be exaggerating the shortcomings of Clarice, the stepmother-to-be. No way the father of the twins would be attracted to Clarice. There was also no attempt of explaining why the two girls looked so much alike. Despite all this, this movie provides a very delightful past time!

WB ruined the dvd of "It takes two" by releasing it in full screen only. it was filmed in widescreen. re-release it in letterboxx.

This movie seems really, really, gay!Even when you watched Full House and seen the Olsen brats grow up,you know they had no talnet and couldn't act so what makes this movie any different since now that theyre a little older? You tell me.Anyway this movie is real lame, and gay!

4 out of 5 stars Alot like Parent Trap!   November 29, 2005

This warm witty family film, starring Mary-Kate and Ashely Olsen I thought, was alot like Parent Trap!

When Amanda Lemon (Mary-Kate) an orphan, goes to stay at Callaway Camp, she meets her identical stranger Alyssa Callaway (Ashely) daughter of a rich bussinessman Roger (Steve Guttenburg) Together, they hatch a plan involving Amandas social worker (Kirstie Alley) whom Amanda is very close to, to meet Alyssa's dad Roger and fall in love in that can't eat, can't sleep reach for the stars over the fence world serious kinda stuff. They switch places, unaware that Roger is getting married to his girlfriend Clarice Kensington and wicked soon to be stepmother (Jane Sibbet) a month early, and Alyssa (who is pretending to be Amanda) will be adopted by the horrible Butkisses. Can they stop the wedding in time and save the day?

A great family film, possibly better than Parent Trap. I suggest you watch it, buy it and enjoy.

4 out of 5 stars I Liked This Movie!   October 16, 2005
I saw It Takes Two and I think it was a good movie and I agree with the reviewers who say it's like a combination of The Prince and the Pauper and The Parent Trap and is just a cute movie that the whole family can watch and Mary Kate Olson, Ashley Olson, Kirstie Alley and Steve Guttenberg are all good and I recommend this cute movie!
