Addicted to Roots November 11, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had this product in VHS and have been waiting for years for it to be released in DVD format. I am happy to say that I was not dissappointed. The production was as fabulous as I remembered it to be. I highly recommend this as an educational documentary, or for families to remember the way things were.
Roots - A Journey Through Time October 27, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Roots is a most comprehensive journey through time of Alex Haley's search for his lineage. This true story is portrayed on film with the highest caliber actors of its time. The film is true to Haley's written production. Character development is rich! This is a must see movie for all.
Wonderful October 18, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just ordered this movie and will receive it tomorrow but I don't need to see it to know it will be great.Alex Haley by giving us these wonderful epics has done more to educate us on what the African Americans went through than any school could.Alex's story has not only showed what racism is but shown the strength of the people who went through it and still are.Kudos to Alex Haley.
Tear Jerker... July 15, 2007 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I cried through out watching this powerful movie. The Next Generations documents the history of Alex Haley's family from the time they were set free from slavery all the way up until Alex is reunited with his family in Africa. This movie is inspirational in that I can identify with these people since my family was also taken from Africa and enslaved. I would urge everyone to view this movie for the history that it offers. The acting was also great. Alex Haley, thank you for sharing your wonderful history to the world. This is the best movie that I have ever witnessed in my life.
The American Family Saga Continues April 7, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Excellent work that continues from Roots and goes into the late 1960's. This Mini-series is as good as the original and should be released on dvd asap. Alex Haley did a great thing in sharing his family history with us when he did all his research and told it the way he did. There are too many stars in this production to mention them all. I highly recommend this mini-series to anyone interested in the history of our country and it is a good story as well.
