LOVE IT! September 17, 2008 This is the best movie ever! one of the classic musicals. Plus the second disc is a great extra! :-) Everyone should own this item!
7 Brides for 7 Brothers September 15, 2008 This is one of my most favorite movie of all. I first saw this movie when I was a young girl so it was just the most romantic movie in the world. Men going after the women of their dreams and then of course having to be chast till wed, held true by the most romantic couple of all the newlyweds and then the exciting chase to preserve their women's reputaion, the fathers and brothers and betroths, from down the mountain and the girls falling in love with their captors and holding fast for them. True love always wins out in the end. This was the first musical movie that I shared with my daughter when she was about 11 years old and her reaction was just the same as mine. All the beautiful music, dancing, love and fighting for the girl of your heart. Like I said, True Love is so beautiful and happy!!!
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers September 3, 2008 I had always seen only bits and pieces of the movie and had loved what I had seen. So it is really nice now to be able to see the whole movie - and I love it. A classic.
Classic Keeper May 6, 2008 This musical is older than I am. I have had in my collection twice. This time it stays. The story line holds up. The dance numbers are still being taught. The barn raising dance belongs in the history book. You'll find may gems in this one. After you see it once you'll hum "Bless You're Beautiful Hide." Look hard and you'll recognize a featured player from "West Side Story." Enjoy.

This has been a great musical for as long as I can remember! It's right up there with "Singin' In the Rain"! Every time my cousins and I are at our grandparents house we watch this movie at least once(usually more though). I guess it's tradition. And then we do the barn dance (we have seen it so many times we have it memorized - including my three year old brother). It's a fun and entertaining movie for the entire family! Adam (Howard Keel) is a backwoodsmen living in Oregon with his six other brothers. They are all named alphabetically and are all Bible names (Adam, Benjamin, Caleb, Daniel, Ephraim, Frankincense (Frank) and Gideon). He meets Milly (Jane Powell) a feisty beauty he falls in love with and marries. He takes her to his home where she meets his six brothers (that she didn't know he had). She cooks and cleans for them and soon has them ready to "go courtin'" and find wives of their own.
