Album Description Welcome back to the exclusive resort where your soul can unwind and you can replenish body, mind and spirit. Come on in, take up residence and chill-out to a sensuous new set of global grooves with the perfect blend of entrancing rhythms, mystical vocals and an exotic array of ethnic instruments from the world's best sonic mixologists. Create a hip atmosphere with this luscious non-stop mix of the freshest sounds around, carefully handpicked by our award-winning DJs, the Gordon Brothers (Buddha-Lounge, Cafe de Luna). Featured global lounge mystics include: Achillea, Marcator, Jens Gad, Peter Mergener The Moontrane Conductors, Hands Upon Black Earth, Steve Gordon, Win Meyerson, Opera-to-Relax and Jaya Lakshmi. Kick back and settle in for a magical ride where ancient cultures and modern beats combine into an enticing musical brew. Ideal for yoga and the perfect background for entertaining or just relaxing at home. Dubbed the "Intimate Side of Buddha Lounge," Sequoia Groove's "Hotel Tara" series echoes the latter's proclivity for high quality global grooves, only with the mellowness factor increased tenfold. David & Steve Gordon, resident mixmasters on this ambient excursion, cherry-picked a simply luscious collection down-tempo gems for your lounging pleasure, chilled to the point of transcendent bliss. The opening track, "Navajo" from Jens Gad is a prime example of what you can expect across the board - sensual rhythms, a sea of fluid synthesizers and sublime melodies that bubble up here and there with the effervescence of club soda. Achillea's "Shears from Scar" evokes a sunrise over the beaches of Ibiza and Win Meyerson's "Samsara" finds a balance between corner jazz club chic and Asian mysticism. Great addition to the series! A true escape November 26, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Pancha Tattvit is my new favorite song ever. I can listen to it over an over. It's global beats and vocals are so exotic and other-worldly. Makes me feel like another person in another time. A true escape from stress. Love it! I also have to say that I recommend Buddha Lounge, Vol. 3 for another escape door.
Buddha-Lounge for the quiet times September 25, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The sub-title for this album is "The Intimate Side of Buddha-Lounge". Seeing as how I love the Buddha-Lounge series, how could I not love this one, too? And sure enough, I really enjoy the same sweet mix, the choice of artists for this second series. The tempo is a little lighter and softer, but just as moving and, at times, intense.
A great album! September 1, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love the down tempo style of the Hotel Tara series. This album is a follow-up to the smooth sounds of Hotel Tara: The Intimate Side of Buddha-Lounge. As soon as I ordered the album, i couldn't wait to listen. Just as the first, Hotel Tara 2 excels in transforming my hectic world into an exotic resort. I recommend songs #6 and #11.
Even better than the first! August 30, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have had the first Hotel Tara for some time and have really loved it. It's one of the few chill/lounge compilations I have heard that is good all the way through. Every single track is excellent. I just got Hotel Tara 2 and I was pleased to find that it is even better! Somehow the Gordon Brothers managed to make an ever better set. This is some of the most satisfying, sensual, European downtempo I have heard. I also have their Buddha-Lounge 4 and 5 too which are really good also.
Pass It Up August 16, 2007 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased the first Hotel Tara, which is Brilliant. Wonderful. One of my Favourites. So, when Hotel Tara 2 came out, I jumped at a continuum. This one is NOTHING like the first; almost all monotonal instrumental stuff with a rerun song at the end. Save your Money; purchase something else instead. I liked Lover's Lounge.. or Cafe Luna...
