Product Description Studio: Hanna Barbera Release Date: 12/02/2008 Run time: 89 minutes Rating: G
Amazon.com Yogi Bear is a classic Hanna-Barbera animated program about the smart and very mischievous Yogi Bear, his young bear friend Boo Boo, the love-struck Cindy Bear, and their escapades in Jellystone Park under the watchful eyes of Ranger Smith. This full-length, 1964 movie was Hanna-Barbera's first animated theatrical release and features several songs including James Darren's rendition of "Ven-e Ven-o, Ven-a." Re-mastering gives this DVD a nice crisp picture. Kids and adults alike will delight in the crazy capers of Yogi Bear--escapades that revolve around satisfying Yogi's never-ending appetite and range from posing as the park's food inspector to unleashing special forces of trained picnic ants on unsuspecting picnickers. When Yogi's pranks go too far, Ranger Smith ships him off to the San Diego zoo, but things don't go quite as planned and Yogi ends up setting off on his own in pursuit of Cindy Bear while Boo Boo is left in Jellystone without his two closest frien! ds. Yogi and Cindy wind up in every conceivable situation from being held against their will by the shady "Chizzling Brothers Travelling Circus" to inadvertently winding up smack in the middle of New York city, but thankfully, this "smarter-than-your-average-bear" is determined to find a way to safely return to Jellystone Park. --Tami Horiuchi

Beautifully made movie December 8, 2008 Great story. Cute songs. Wonderful voice actors. Smooth full-animation. Handsomely rendered backgrounds. I've been waiting for this since 1964! One of Hanna Barbera's best efforts! My one tiny complaint is the theme song; it sounds very similar to "Here Comes Santa Claus", which also sounds very similar to "Ain't We Got Fun?". Even if you're not a little kid anymore, you'll probably want to watch this marvelous film more than once!
A fun film for the kids (& kid in all of us!) October 14, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I remember this film when I was a kid. I mostly remember how much I loved the music. Some great songs - even one sung by James Darren! A silly film, of course, but just plain fun as only Yogi Bear can be. I can't wait to see it again - and on DVD!
Best Hanna-Barbera Movie Ever Made August 15, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I saw this in the movie theater in 1964 and it still puts a smile on my face. It is funny and fun to watch with Yogi, Boo Boo, Cindy and Mister Ranger. Grab a pic-a-nic basket and sit down and enjoy a great movie.
