Product Description Director Jacques Maillot s exquisitely told story focuses on Rachel a beautiful but frustrated young mother who finds parenthood a burden. She abandons her young child to embark on a series of affairs first with a man and then with a woman pickpocket she meets in the south of France. A female detective desperate but unable to conceive her own child is assigned to find her. Cold as Summer (winner of several awards in Europe) is both a gripping detective story and an emotionally wrenching drama featuring stellar performances by lead actresses Nathalie Richard and stunning newcomer Sarah Grappin.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: DRAMA UPC: 892131001021 Manufacturer No: 2

Disjointed, slow; interesting story. June 17, 2007 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Mostly, this movie was rather fragmented. Maybe that reflects the state of mind of the main character, Sara, and that story was good, but the quality of the film was very marginal. This theme was really well done, the tragic consequence of Sara's disconnection from her rut-like life as a mother of a young toddler, was riviting. What makes it lesbian is her encounter with a random stranger, a women, and they hook up for a couple of days while she stays disconnected from her life. BUT, it just wasn't developed enough. The idle moments with no substance were a waste of time that could have been spent on building the scenario toward the tragic ending. Worth a watch though.
