Product Description People have been using drugs since the beginning of time and for almost as long someone has been trying to stop it. The war on drugs has been a constant battle in the world and there is no end in sight. The propaganda put forth by various governments about their individual efforts to combat drug trafficking is usually somewhere in between a lie and a cover up. DRUG WARS will look to expose these fallacies as well as delve into the culture of drugs in various lands. It will show how drug culture is so tied into the economy and for some the existence of entire communities as well as explore the violence and corruption spawned from the trade.System Requirements:Run Time: 180 minsFormat: DVD MOVIE Genre: MISCELLANEOUS/SPECIAL INTEREST UPC: 090204612253 Manufacturer No: SPI002

Drug Wars September 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
True story of the drug wars in Miami in the 1970's. Lots of footage, interviews, etc. A great story of a true drug cartel, if you like Miami Vice, or are interested in crime stories, this is as good as it gets. I have studied the 70's, crime, and law enforcement for many years, and never heard of this operation. It is well worth the time to watch, excellant movie.
Fascinating.... December 11, 2006 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This movie has a lot of excellent content and it's well shot, South American aerial views are stunning, the footage from Brazil and surrounding Pablo Escobar's murder are phenomenal. I deeply appreciate the social justice sentiments presented and special features that include "underground" footage taken from notorious gang hangouts, interviews with drug vigilantes and a special short about the execution of Pablo Escobar, the Colombian drug lord who became one of the richest men in the world by smuggling cocaine. Good stuff.
