Good laughs, Worth buying July 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got some good chuckles out of this anime, one of those animes you wish they would have conituned some how... Fun to re-watch for laughs as well.

Not bad, but beware the English dub June 17, 2008 Not too bad a series - silly fantasy with entertaining characters, a bunch of genuine laughs, and even a few touching moments (a girl and her tank... 'nuff said). But even as someone who normally prefers subs to dubs, I'd have to recommend watching it subtitled. It's not that the voice actors are cast badly or do an awful job... it's that the script has been absolutely brutalized.
The characters all cuss excessively (I'm no prude, but it actually got distracting at some points), and incredibly lame pop-culture references and puns abound throughout the script. I could forgive this much, except the writers also rewrote dialogue that substantially altered the plot of the story in some cases. As an example, in one episode, a nun's motivation was changed from misguided but heroic to murderous intent, thanks to a dub translation that wasn't even close to the original. And listen to what the prince says to the flower-girl at the end of the ball! Ugh... If nothing else, you can have some fun watching some of the episodes back to back in English and Japanese and see how far off some of the English dialogue veers from the original.
Having seen this series, I suppose I understand a bit better now why some anime fans swear by dubs.
Time for some balance March 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There are two very big minuses with this series: 1. The animation is lame, with lots of still shots, even in the fight scenes 2. The English dub is poor, and deviates quite a bit from the Japanese.
The premise was great, and I wanted to love this series, but did not. It will be better for those who watch in the original Japanese.
This isn't a porn February 18, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I thought this would be a no plot anime porn. But, its an actual movie with a plot.
Possibly the hardest I've laughed in years! February 8, 2008 This series (especially series one) is now runner-up for my favorite anime series. If you consider my favorite has stood since it came out in 1992, that's saying something. (Oh, All Purpose Cultural Cat-Girl Nuku-Nuku is my favorite, tied with the Nuku-Nuku TV sequel series). If you like the humor style anime this one is a must.
