| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Basketball legend Michael Jordan is both subject and star of this video, which begins with a dizzying montage of Jordan's spectacular moves on the court. That's followed by dramatic feature about a dejected teenager who doesn't make the cut at a high school basketball team tryout but who winds up, as if by magic, getting coaching from Jordan himself. Pertinent clips from Jordan's college and pro career illustrate particular points as he delivers lessons about determination and "heart." Some of Jordan's teammates and illustrious opponents also appear in interview segments to talk about his fierce will to win. Rounding out Michael Jordan's Playground is a music video, in which Jordan even does a little dancing. This video is always entertaining, and chances are it would be helpful as a motivational tool for a young player. --Robert J. McNamara

First of its kind! February 26, 2008 BOTTOM LINE:
CLASSIC! Yet again, MJ starts another trend that carried over to this day, blending basketball with hiphop. This video shows Jordan schooling a young guy (Tyren Turner - Caine of 'Menace to Society'!) about giving his all to become a great player. Thru this, we get to see never-before seen footage (at that time) of a monster MJ killing teams and scoring at will.
Nice music video montage at the end, again a first for sports vids.
GOOD FOR YOUNG PLAYERS. March 14, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
THIS IS ENJOYING AND I PASSED IT ON TO MY YOUNG PLAYERS. I THINK THAT'S WHO WOULD ENJOY THIS THE MOST. MJ TRIES TO GET A POINT ACROSS AND THE YOUNG PLAYERS SHOULD LISTEN TO HIM. ANY MJ FAN WOULD ENJOY THE BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS.
Great Basketball Video January 31, 2007 This is truly a great basketball video for entertainment or motivation for any age... I showed this during a birthday party to about 25 children (4th & 5th grade). The kids liked it so much I had to show it again and parents and kids all had a great time watching it! I think the Aunt's review on July 2, 2001, was watching the wrong video as Michael's Playground is a color video, not B&W...?
Not in Black and White July 4, 2006 Not sure what the previous review is about. The video is not black and white at all - apart from 5 seconds of still photography.
Excellent video and still the best for rapid-fire highlights
Aunt's review July 2, 2001 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
In black and white throughout and this turned off my nephew from the beginning - "It's for grown-ups." (Although I realized the older sports clips might be in black and white, and had told him so, I was surprised that parts of the video did not change to color - the box was in high color and does not state that the video is B and W.) Overall content is good with a motivational story line and a marvelous collection of the high spots that show the range of Jordan's immense talent. A great item to add to or to start a collection. Just not a good video to grab a child's interest.
