4 out of 5 stars she's aight...   August 1, 2008

idina's not an easy singer to love. i like it that she speaks her mind, but after a few songs, you kinda long for p.c., because she's definately not that, she says thinks most people only think...she's a smart-a--ed jewish soul sister from long island, who reminds me alot of laura nyro... her songs are trippy and poetic...her lyrics are deep...you have to listen to the songs more than once to get at what she's saying....and idina can definately sing...the only difference between " still " and her second album is that on this one, she doesn't give a rodent's posterior about getting played on the radio...basically, idina just cut her heart out and put it in the music...i can see why she'd be with a brotha...she's seems very cool and with it....on one song " think too much " the music is out of synch with the vocals, which makes it kinda rough to listen to....but then the whole album is very adventurous....idina won a tony award, but like her broadway sisters, heather headley and kristin chenoweth, idina will proabably be one of those singers who'll sell just enough to keep making records, but will always be "under the radar"....this records is good for multiple listens; but could you handle it ?

5 out of 5 stars Why didn't this make it before? This is amazing!   July 13, 2008

This has to be one of the most original albums I've ever listened to. It has it all: smooth, jazzy ballads; experimental pop sounds; acoustic. Most of her fans are used to her using an mellow-sounding Broadway voice, which I love; but this album really shows the versatility of her vocal styles. She doesn't hold back; she is completely honest in each song and tells us how she really feels. The lyrics really make you think about what she's saying. If you're a true-blue Idina fan like me, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Pure Brilliance   May 4, 2008
Talent, creativity, and emotional depth combine to make this one of the best albums ever! While Ms. Menzel has one of the most amazing voices out there, she is much more than just a singer. She's written a wonderful variety of songs for this album from fun yet clever songs like "Minuet," "Planet Z" and "Think Too Much" to beautiful songs like "Heart on My Sleeve" and "Straw into Gold" to deep songs like "Larissa's Lagoon." You won't regret purchasing this album.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing   February 13, 2008

When I ordered this, I guess I expected the content to be more like the performances she gave in "Rent" and "Wicked", that is to say, adult fare. I did not expect stuff akin to hip-hop or teeny bopper music. She is MUCH more talented that this dismal CD affords. I will order another- hopefully that better showcases her abilities. Sorry.

5 out of 5 stars Still my stereo can't be still   November 2, 2007
I have listened to this album so many times I had to buy another one! My first copy is completely worn out. I guarantee you will love this album if you enjoy a mix of many different song styles. She is an amazing performer!
