Very Detailed... November 1, 2007
Well, first time I ordered bookends online... so I wasn't sure what to expect.
I must say that weight, which was my primary concern, was not a disappointment.
They are heavy enough to keep even very large books standing, so there is no question
of practicality here.
Now, my second concern was the actual quality. Since it is pretty hard to judge the
quality just from the photos, I was anxious about how detailed they were.
Well, suffice it to say that I am very pleased with the gargoyle figures :) Very detailed
craftsmanship and a nice warm dark-sinister feeling looming over them :)
Which is *exactly* what I was going for when I ordered them ;) So, I can safely say
I am a pleased customer.
On a sidenote:
The figures come in a grey-ish color,which is not bad, but to make them really great
you might want to actually sit down and decide how to color them. Haven't done it
myself yet. It depends how you like your book-ends I guess. If you want them to
resemble the actual gargoyles seen on various churches, you don't have to paint them ;)
If you want to make them look more fantasy-oriented, then paint it is.
All in all, a great buy.
